Land of contrasts, unusual landscapes, muse of the greatest Impressionists… You certainly have chosen one of the most beautiful destinations! Imagine what this destination can offer: diving in crystal water, striding along altitude trails and experiencing both the excitement of the most glamorous events and the quietness of hill villages.
To have a front row seat to appreciate your holiday destination, you will find below and in the next pages all my recommendations not to miss anything of the show!
With a mix of pride and marvel, local people have named their town “Nissa la Bella”. Each year the capital of the French Riviera welcomes millions of tourists who come and enjoy the stylish Promenade des Anglais and the pebble beaches, the authentic charm of the Old Town and the Castle Hill with its stunning views. In Nice the party is in full swing in February for the main event of the year: the Nice Carnival.
Who can pretend not to have ever heard of Cannes, Monaco or Menton? For a long time the Riviera has been a winter seaside resort visited by upper class people and famous artists. Nowadays, the Riviera lets herself be seduced by holidaymakers from the whole world who come to laze on the beaches of the coast, stay in splendid villas or Art Deco residences and attend the most renowned events that contributed to its fame: Cannes film festival, Monaco Grand Prix and the Lemon Festival in Menton.
Local people from the Alpes-Maritimes will agree with me to affirm that the Southern Alps represent the best-kept secret of this mythical country. Among valleys, gorges and fascinating villages stands in all its greatness, the Mercantour: one of the 10 National Parks in France. Hiking or snowshoeing trails, ski slopes and mountain bike routes, mountain huts and altitude lakes… All these outdoor activities (and so much more!) will please you throughout the seasons in a panoramic scenery. And do not be surprised by a fortuitous encounter with marmots, ibexes and chamois that will give you a warm welcome.
